On April 10, 2025, the Czech Association for Agroforestry organized a seminar in collaboration with the European projects ReForest and DigitAF. This event, held in Prague, showcased the latest advancements in agroforestry research and innovation.

During the morning session, participants were introduced to the ReForest Knowledge Hub, a new online platform designed to consolidate fragmented information on agroforestry and foster a vibrant community. The platform offers expert articles, links to international resources, online tools, inspiring documentaries, and other valuable materials. A key highlight was the presentation of an interactive agroforestry map that allows farmers across the Czech Republic to register their initiatives for free, enhancing networking and experience-sharing.

The DigitAF project introduced cutting-edge tools supporting farmers in selecting the right tree species for agroforestry systems, notably AgroforestTreeAdvice and Deciduous. Additionally, tools like CARAT and the Farm Carbon Calculator were presented to help farmers better understand and manage the carbon impact of their agricultural practices.

In the afternoon, a guided walk through the Průhonice Dendrological Garden allowed participants to observe firsthand a range of tree and shrub species suited to agroforestry. Experts discussed their growth characteristics, site requirements, and their productive and environmental benefits. The walk sparked lively discussions around practical integration of agroforestry species into the agricultural landscape.

This seminar not only provided practical tools and knowledge but also strengthened the foundations of a dynamic agroforestry community in the Czech Republic, supporting farmers in the transition towards innovative and sustainable agricultural practices.
