Philippe Loudjani

Philippe is a scientific Project Officer at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. With a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology and Ecology from Paris-Orsay University, he joined the JRC in 2000 and has since focused on crop yield modeling and forecasting. Skilled in remote sensing imagery across agricultural and environmental sectors, contributes to diverse projects including crop yield forecasts, illegal dumping site identification, and environmental impact assessments of mining activities. A key member of the CAPLAND group, he provides essential support to DG Agriculture and Member States for implementing the Common Agricultural Policy’s First Pillar. Current work involves using his research expertise to advance rural land cover and land use characterisation, pivotal for the development of monitoring methods and preparing for the CAP post 2020.
